October 2010 Goals

Continuing with the “better late than never” theme:

Financial Goals:

  1. $650 into retirement accounts  (Roth & 403b–this is in addition to my state-provided pension, which 11% of my salary automatically gets paid into; most of this is possible through my 2nd job’s earnings)
  2. $1,000 into savings account
  3. $200 extra to mortgage
  4. Cut miscellaneous spending
  5. Begin saving $$ for holiday travel and gifts

Household Goals:

  1. Finish painting base coat for kitchen and dining room
  2. Begin crown molding project in master BR

Personal Goals:

  1. Run a marathon (literally–on the 17th!)
  2. Inquire about discounted gym membership–milking that grad school ID that hasn’t expired yet :)
  3. Catch up on reading (right now it’s just magazines–some from August still–sad, but true)

An ambitious month, indeed!  The savings #s would be higher due to this month’s triple paycheck status, but a mini-getaway for Columbus Day and a pesky tax issue have negated any additional gains.  Hooray for not living paycheck-to-paycheck anymore or else the weekend wouldn’t have happened and the tax issue would have left me in a world of pain (more on exactly what this issue is in a later post)!  Have a great week, everyone!
