In the spirit of anonymous transparency (what an oxymoron that is!), I’ve decided to become more financially “naked” on this blog. Hence, the addition of my Net Worth widget on the sidebar. By clicking this nifty icon, you are instantly transported to a site that clearly lists the actual totals of my savings, retirement, and debt, oh my!
A few notes regarding said totals:
- My savings was significantly depleted last April/May due to the closing of my condo. While it currently sits at around $12K, there was once upwards of $50K in this account. Obviously, the goal is return to, and surpass, this figure
- My student loan totals are from undergrad and grad school x3 (yes, currently pursuing my 4th Masters degree). While I hate having this much debt, I really cannot complain considering the immense educational background I’ve attained throughout these years of study
- My retirement is composed of my Roth and a 403b program through one of my part-time jobs. I also contribute to the state’s pension system through my full-time job, but I don’t count that in the totals as I’m not sure I will continue on my current career path
Stay tuned for the eventual addition of some sort of bar or graph to track my savings & debt re-payment progress….
Great increase on last month!
