“The best-laid plans of mice & men often go awry” I couldn’t agree more! In the past 2 weeks, I have had quite the Murphy visits: $176 for my kittens to see the vet and $292 for a broken control arm replacement for my car (curses to you, Boston pot-holes!).
That’s right around $468 that was supposed to go to savings to help me meet my July Goals. After tweaking the numbers, I’m sad to say that my $800 savings goal has been drastically reduced to a mere $200 given an additional recalculation for my trip to Napa next week.
As I began to hem & haw over the missed savings goal, I realized that I should really quit my complaining because as long as there aren’t any other surprises this month, I’m still on-track to pay off 2 student loans, pay for my trip from the monthly budget, AND add a bit to savings. Talk about an eye-opener–glass half-full in this woman’s eyes!
Here’s to hoping that the remainder of the month sails along quietly….Mr. Murphy, please take your nonsense elsewhere!
Drat that murphy, but it sounds like you ar doing just fine! Glad you are able to do so many things with your income!
you are a great track & don't be so bummed that you didn't meet your original hope – you are doing fantastic
I'm reading through your archives this weekend, and I have just got to say – I LOVE your attitude!
