Lessons Learned

There’s truly no place like home.  I was beyond excited to go home this year for Thanksgiving because my entire family was home (very rare with 3 other siblings who are scattered around the country!).  While it was a very long (~10 hour) drive each way, the trip and the drive was exactly what I needed to re-ground myself as well as enjoy the holiday.

You must be the change you wish to see.  An adaptation of a famous quote that I’ll be applying to my spending “problem.”  I’ve worked up a plan for December, and I’m willing to make some sacrifices to ensure I come in under budget this month in all categories!

Everyone needs an “off switch” for work and other stressors.  While speaking to a friend recently, I realized how vital it is to be able to turn yourself/your thinking “off” when something is stressing you.  Especially with regards to work, I’ve learned to carefully monitor my stress level and to simply turn it “off” when needed.  While it’s not always the easiest to do, the impact on your state of mind, etc. is monumental.

It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year!!!
