Here’s how I would tackle the world of Craigslist:

1. These side hustles would be found in the “gigs” section of the site (I need a break from consistently working 3 jobs during the week!)
2. They should be fun/something different than what I usually do
3. They must be able to be completed outside normal working hours and, preferably, in one day/weekend
4. They can’t have any serious tax implications (read:  cash is King, baby!)
5. It wouldn’t hurt if these gigs also combined physical activity/exercise

Here were my personal rules for how to confirm/complete the work:

1. Set up anonymous gmail address from which to reply (just lists first name and last initial)
2. Get a contact number, address, Company info, etc. BEFORE giving out any of my information
3. Agree to terms of payment before work is begun
4. Ensure payment is up-front or have written confirmation of when $$ will be sent
5. If a meeting is required, ensure it’s held in a busy, public place
6. Tell friends where I’ll be if gig requires travel or cannot be done from home
7. Have cell phone on & charged when I’m there!

Here’s what I’ve done so far to Make Mo’ Money (includes non-Craigslist items):

1. Worked at the Boston Marathon Expo ($285)
2. Participated in a runners focus group ($200–cash!)
3. Secured some freelance web copywriting ($150)
4. Cashed in credit card rebate ($50)
5. Cashed in insurance rebate ($564.74)
6. Turned in final timesheets for old tutoring position ($180)
7. Convinced sister to pay remainder of $$ she owed me from a loan I gave her ($100)

Total side hustle for this month so far:  $1,529.74  ($635 of that is from Craigslist gigs!)
