July Re-Cap

Financial Goals: 

  1. $1,731 to Perkins Loan (payoff amount!)   SUPER CHECK!
  2. $1,524 to Grad School Fed Loan #3 (payoff amount!)   SUPER CHECK!
  3. $650 into retirement accounts CHECK!
  4. $800 into savings  Fail–Murphy struck, but I did save $300
  5. $250 extra to mortgage   CHECK!
  6. Limit variable spending to $500   CHECK!
  7. Find a way to bring in an extra $100+    CHECK!  I brought in an extra $407, plus the $$ from working one FT job but being paid for two
  8. Pay for Napa trip out of monthly budget   CHECK!
  9. NO eating out except for when in Napa!  Fail–totally cheated and went out to eat to celebrate paying off the student loans..oopsies, at least it was only once!

Household Goals:

  1. Install storm doors    Fail
  2. Host a BBQ    Fail
  3. Install ceiling fan in Master Bedroom  Fail

Personal Goals:

  1. Run consistently  CHECK!
  2. Attend yoga & spin classes  Fail–I can’t wait to get rid of my gym membership!
  3. Establish a healthy eating plan  Getting better!

This month has been fantastic, even if I didn’t reach all of my goals (storm doors and ceiling fans, anyone??).  What I did do was to pay off a nice chunk of my student loan debt and get back on-track with a daily exercise routine (I now bike to/from work each day).  Here’s to an equally successful August!
