September Re-Cap

Financial Goals: 

  1. $2,200 into savings  SUPER CHECK–saved $2,700 this month!
  2. $1,300 extra to mortgage  SUPER CHECK–sent in an extra $1,500
  3. $1,111 for Greece trip Hopefully, I leave tomorrow so we’ll see
  4. $650 into retirement accounts CHECK!
  5. $100 extra to student loans CHECK!
  6. Limit variable spending to $500  CHECK!
  7. Bring in an extra $200+  CHECK–brought in an extra $840 this month

Household Goals:

  1. Finish demo & removal of concrete walkway in yard (Yes, I have a sledgehammer & I know how to use it!)   1/2 done…
  2. Paint 2nd bedroom   CHECK!
  3. Re-calk & grout 2nd bathroom bathtub  Fail–moving to October

Personal Goals:

  1. Bike to/from work–21 miles/day  CHECK!
  2. Start up P90X (borrowed from BF)   Fail–moving to October
  3. Maintain Carla’s 5 a Day Challenge for the entire month   CHECK!

Another great month! My true test will be to stay within my travel budget. Considering the dismal state of financial affairs in Greece right now, I’m not sure what’s going to happen. But to be honest, I’m just happy to be going away on a vacation, so I’m not going to complain!

  1. Congrats on the amazing progress toward your goals! I don't think you could consider any of them a failure when you accomplished so much!I don't set monthly goals – I probably should, but I'm terrified of failing to meet them and getting depressed. I guess my monthly goals are keeping my accounts in the black. :)
