This month will be a brief departure from previous months of insane mortgage payoff because it isn’t a three paycheck month at any of my jobs and I have upped my 403(b) contributions. I’m also headed to Mexico next week for a wedding in the Riviera, so I will want to pay for that completely out of the monthly budget.
Financial Goals:
- $950 Cancun/Riviera (out of monthly budget)
- $500 into savings
- $200 extra to mortgage
- $800 into retirement accounts
- $100 extra to student loans
- Limit variable spending to$500
- Bring in an extra $200+
Household Goals:
- Complete demo & removal of concrete walkway in yard
- Winterize home (pipes, windows, roof, etc)
- Re-calk & grout 2nd bathroom bathtub
Personal Goals:
- Bike to/from work–21 miles/day
- Pilates 3x/week
- Run 3x/week or more
What are your November goals?
I'm jealous that you're going to Mexico next week.
I'm jealous too! You have a great goal list this month. I love your fitness goals.
I agree with Niki, GREAT fitness goals!!Mexico sounds like a nice time!! You are still saving money, which makes it even sweeter!
Your awesomeness can not be measured.I'm jealous three but not because of the trip but because of your awesomeness. I can't wait to be like you and just adjust the budget and the snap of a finger like that.
Good work on the extra mortgage payments. This month we started our new 15 yr mortgage. I no longer need to pay extra $$ each month (which i enjoyed doing.) Our payment is more, but we pay so much more toward principal compared to the old mortgage. Now I need to draw up a plan for re-doing the side yard over the winter. And maybe I can run more in November too.
Have a great time in the Mexican Riviera! It's one of the spots that we dream of going to- to see the Mayan ruins. My only November goal is to keep the grocery budget at a reasonable level as we host Thanksgiving for our friends. (And then carry that goal into December as we also host Christmas.)
@Michelle–it was a great trip but I am happy to be home and get focused on my next set of goals!@Niki & Sharon–thank you! I love to be active, so I make sure to fit it in somehow.@Rafiki–it's taken me a long time to get to this point so be patient and you will, too!!@Working–Congrats on the great mortgage progress!!! And I always love hearing about other runner's goals!@Shanendoah–Thank you! I think your goal is fantastic; I'm always amazed by how food costs soar during the holiday months. Maybe I need to write about this topic…Hmmmm…
