April 2012 Goals

April is a very ambitious month for me. My main challenges will be limiting my meals out and crossing multiple DIY projects off my list for both my condo and my BF’s place (I’m re-doing his entire condo to build my portfolio for the launch of my new business). Hopefully, I’ll have a good report at the end of the month so I can jet off to Ireland with less of a to-do list on my mind!

Financial Goals:

  1. $800 into retirement accounts
  2. $700 saved for Kilimanjaro trip
  3. $540 into regular savings
  4. $400 saved for Ireland trip
  5. $200 extra to student loans
  6. $200 extra to mortgage
  7. Limit variable spending to $450
  8. Limit eating out to 5 meals or less for entire month

Household Goals:

  1. Complete master bath back splash project
  2. Re-grout guest bath shower
  3. Clean both bathroom exhaust fans
  4. Service guest bath jacuzzi tub
  5. Clean range hood/exhaust fan

Personal Goals:

  1. Complete the Boston Marathon!
  2. Continue biking to work
  3. Continue building business project portfolio
  4. Complete DIY projects at BF’s condo:
    1. Paint dining room & living room trim
    2. Install custom shelving unit in living room
    3. Paint dining room chairs
    4. Purchase dining room table and rug
    5. Make dining room curtains

What are your April goals?

  1. Great blog. Your goal posts are so much more extensive than mine lol. I'd have more "home ownership" related goals, but unlike where you live, our housing bubble (in Canada) hasn't popped yet.

  2. Doesn't it feel empowering to set personal goals? You've really gone to great lengths to set some very lofty goals for the month, and I love how you divided and organized them into three distinct categories. This is the exact focus of my blog. Good luck to you!

  3. Can I borrow some of your gumption? Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed with having my needy baby and jealous that other people are getting things done while I feel like it's a struggle to get a shower some days, but today I feel inspired by your goals! These are great! I wish you luck in setting all of them.

  4. I have a lot of household goals! We finally finished most of our yard stuff last night, but there's more I want to do still.

  5. It absolutely does! I love crossing things off the list–doing so always gives me the motivation to keep moving forward. Good luck with your goals as well

  6. Thanks, Michelle! I give you so much credit–there's no way I'd get even a quarter of this done if I had a little one to focus on. Although that would probably be more rewarding… :)

  8. Looks like April is going to be a pretty busy month but good luck. For us this month we are trying to get our taxes done, catch up with family and friends, and get some of my school work done.

  9. Haha…same here which is why I'm trying to cut back this month. I think it will be a great opportunity to try to eat healthier as well. I think out of all of my goals, this is going to be the most difficult one! :)

  10. You've finally crossed the line. There is nothing you can not do. I totally believe if you put learn to fly on your goals list, you would achieve it, cause I know secretly you have to be superwoman.April is going to be awesome.

  11. I love your household to-do list! I'm sure I'll be starting ours next month as we are set to move on April 28th! The boys parents are flying in to help with a lot of stuff so we'll see what's left to do after they leave.
