May. Oh, what a month. The good, the bad, the ugly; this month was filled with it all. Highlights include fitting in ~$400 for my blog re-design (consulting, hosting, merge, etc.), a surprise $156 tax bill (I made an “oops!” on my 2009 return), and completing all pieces of the re-fi puzzle.
While I managed to meet most of my goals, a lot of changes went down that will have a serious impact on June’s budget. I may very well be referring to this post for some much-needed inspiration when things get a bit ugly!

You're doing great! Jealous that you're going to Fincon by the way.
Thanks, Michelle! May looks awesome, but June is sure to be a mess…haha!! I'm excited for FinCon–I'll be sure to share as much about it as possible
So jealous that you are going to FinCon. And your May looks awesome.
I'm very excited about FinCon. I'm looking forward to things settling down soon in terms of work, etc, then I can really throw myself into this blog in time to take as much away from the conference as possible!
May is fantastic, but June is going to be hella uuugly
you did an outstanding job — good work!
Thanks! It was a great month–luckily none of the job stuff had an impact on May.
Congrats on getting so far on your goals! I really wanted to go to Fin Con as well but it won't work out with work this year. Have fun and let us know what we missed and can look forward to next year!
I definitely will! Bummer out it not working out this year for you–I'll be sure to share as much as possible
Awesome job on accomplishing so much. My May was awful!! I've been sick all month so didn't really get anything done and spent way to much eating out since I couldn't cook. I'm starting June off strong though and plan on knocking out our bathroom remodel by next Sunday.
Boo..I hope you're feeling better soon! Your bathroom plans sounds great; share some pictures with us
May was aMAYzing – won an award and into finals for another which tick s many boxes.
But I STILL have to screw together a desk I have refinished – in fact I am off to do that now as it is only a 5 minute job and I have been procrastinating like heck!!!
Haha…I love it! Congrats!!! Hope that desk didn't cause too many problems; I'm in the middle of refinishing some furniture myself!
you just destroyed all of those financial goals.. you should be proud.
our month was good, but not quite as grand as yours!
Thank you! I am very happy with how the month played out. Now, onto June…oh, June :p
I started off this post thinking that May had to be quite an upset for you then….. surprise surprise; all nine financial goals knocked off like a champion.
I understand how the upsets in the month may reflect for June but I know you can turn ugly into the early blooming of a flower
Looking forward to June's recap.
You kicked May in the booty!
