Save Money on New Furniture by Shopping Online

Colorful Bedroom Recently, I began covering the various steps I’m taking to overhaul and redecorate my home office. While I opted to go the DIY route this time and build my own desk, I know that I could have saved a lot of time and effort (and money!) by shopping online for furniture that I wouldn’t have to build myself.

Here are some reasons why I’ll be shopping online for my next furniture needs (and most likely be buying things that require much less assembly!)…

Save Time by Shopping Online for Furniture

When it comes time to buy new furniture for your home, you need to spend some time browsing the various options. Instead of doing this by driving all around and visiting furniture stores, why not do your browsing and information gathering online?

Not only can you browse through more inventory faster, but you might stumble upon items that are on sale! I personally love the idea of being able to do so while in my PJs and/or in my bed on a lazy weekend day–so much better than wasting gas and dealing with traffic and weekend crowds! :)

Save Money by Shopping Online for Furniture

Online retailers will often discount inventory at ridiculously low prices to save their warehouses from becoming overstuffed. When this happens, you can save hundreds of dollars and even score great discounts on shipping and handling. If there’s a particular online store or company you’re interested in buying from, submit to their email lists to receive even better savings offers.

Introduce Yourself to New Styles by Shopping Online for Furniture

Just as with fashion you wear, home decor has its own changing trends. In order to keep up with what’s current and find new styles you might love that you’ve never seen before, browse online sites for inspiration. One of my recent finds is this gorgeous black, French-inspired bed in The Furniture Market‘s bedroom collection:

Black_bed_french_furniture I can definitely see this in my bedroom, even if it would mean changing the entire look & feel of my room from it’s current palette of warm brown, tan, green and cream. I usually wouldn’t choose such an ornate piece but there’s something about this setup that I’m absolutely in love with. And to think that I never would have found this (or really even thought beds like this exist) had I not done some online browsing!

Do you have any other tips for shopping online for furniture?
