12 in 2012: Part Deux

As promised in my original 12 in 2012 post, the following are some timelines to help me stay on track with the goals I’ve set for the upcoming year (click on each to enlarge). After creating my 2011 yearly review, I realize that it’s very important that I set some smaller goals along the way so that I don’t end up losing sight of the big picture (after all, if you fail to plan, aren’t you really just planning to fail?). For some goals such as running 25 miles/week, it didn’t make sense to create timelines, so additional details for how I plan to accomplish those are included below. Here’s to hoping that 2012 is an incredible year for everyone!!

  •  Complete Disney’s Goofy Challenge:
  •   Run 25 miles per week:
    • Instituting “Sushi Sundays” with a good friend upon my recovery from Goofy, where we’ll meet & run 8-15 miles depending on our training schedules and have sushi for lunch afterwards
    • Run 5 miles M-W-F mornings with a local organization I volunteer for
  • Take my Grandmother on her dream trip to Ireland as a retirement present:

  • Continue to bike to work:
    • Bike year-round, weather dependent
      • Check weather reports, no riding if raining/snowing in winter months
      • Rain in summer is welcome!!!
  • Save $5K in long-term savings:
  • Post 15 times per month or more:
    • Continue Friday Link Love, Monthly Goals, monthly re-caps and Weekly Spending Reports
    • Add to Confessions of a PF Blogger series
    • Incorporate more home maintenance and DIY on a budget content
  • Pay an extra $9K to mortgage:

    •  Save $800/month for retirement:
      • Continue to max out Roth IRA
      • Bump up 403b contributions whenever possible
    • Add $2K to Kilimanjaro Fund:
    •  Buy a sweet camera:
      • Once other financial goals are met, funnel extra $$ into a camera fund
      • Consult photographer friends for recommendations
      • Read online reviews
      • Order/purchase my new camera in time for Christmas 2012!
    • Complete Q&A; a day Project:
      • Diary was given to me as a Christmas present
      • Take with me, even on vacation
      • Try not to miss more than 2 consecutive days of answering questions
    • Draft my business plan:
      • This is perhaps my loftiest goal and one that will be in the works nearly all year
      • Identify viable business ideas by February 2012
      • Base business on a hobby/passion
      • Fine-tune goal as year progresses

What are your 12 in 2012 goals?

    3. I love your little graphics! I have some solid financial goals that are definitely doable if we stick to our budget. I also have lots of one-off tihngs to tick off my 100 in 1001 list – again doable, as long as I keep them in mind and don't simply forget about them.
